CV Screen is recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer for a well-established company within the retail sector. The role is 30 hours a week, full time on site, in Leeds and a salary of up to £40,000 is available.
ROLE DETAILS
Your role as a Health and Safety Officer is to develop and implement health and safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines. The primary focus is to create a safe and compliant workplace environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
2. Prepare and impose policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
3. Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
4. Conduct and carry out training sessions for employees on safety protocols.
5. Monitor compliance with safety regulations.
6. Investigate accidents and incidents, providing recommendations for improvement.
7. Communicate safety guidelines to employees.
8. Develop relevant policies to maintain a safe workplace.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Manager creating and enforcing safety policies that align with industry standards and regulations.
2. Experience leading teams, enforcing safety protocols, and communicating effectively with both employees and other managers.
3. Knowledge of the current HSE (Health and Safety Executive) legislation and staying up to date with future requirements is vital.
4. Proven experience carrying out regular safety audits and identifying potential hazards and assessing safety practices.
5. Experience recognising potential risks and hazards within the workplace and proactively addressing safety concerns.
SALARY:
Basic salary up to £40,000
LOCATION
The role is 30 hours a week, full time on site, in Leeds.
