JBT currently has a great opportunity for a Manufacturing Production Manager to join the Proseal team just south of Manchester.
Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry and has manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Established for 25 years, demand for the Proseal product is growing, and we are responsible for developing many plastic-based alternatives for preserving and safely carrying food. Formed in 1998, Proseal has become the leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling in the UK and is recognized as a major force internationally.
Shift Pattern/Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day and two paid 15-minute breaks. A total of 40 hours per week.

Your new role:
Your role as Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Proseal machine shop, managing a team of machinists, coordinating, and implementing quality control measures. The Machine Shop Supervisor plays a crucial role in optimizing workflow, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that KPIs are met in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with current Health and Safety guidance.
* Overall responsibility for departmental operations to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and cost goals.
* Lead team members, ensuring adequate staffing levels and driving improvements in line with departmental KPIs.
* Manage personnel performance, including employee reviews, time and attendance, and training.
* Ensure equipment and tools are compliant and in good working order.
Workflow Optimization:
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and streamline production processes to enhance efficiency.
* Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machines are properly maintained and serviced.
Aptitudes Required:
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* A hands-on approach to work, with a willingness to lead from the front.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to establish and maintain relationships at all levels.
Experience:
* 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
* Organizational and communication skills backed by previous success.
* Working knowledge of operational functions, including finance and employee management.
* Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for efficiency.
* Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
Qualifications:
* Level 5 technical qualification or equivalent engineering/manufacturing degree/NVQ.
* Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics.
* Experience in lean manufacturing, KAIZEN, Six Sigma, or green belt (CI).
