Sub AgentThe Role(Water/Utilities) As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for managing small-value civil engineering and construction sites or assisting the Site Agent and Project Manager on larger schemes. Your goal will be to achieve successful project delivery in line with the customer’s objectives while ensuring high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control. Key Responsibilities:Site Management Maintain commercial performance of the contract. Oversee the successful delivery of projects. Develop and manage the project programme, ensuring its timely delivery. Interpret and work from drawings and specifications. Provide engineering expertise and support to the project team. Ensure all staff, subcontractors, and visitors are properly inducted, meet competency requirements, and hold relevant qualifications and tickets. Act as an ambassador for the business, representing our client to customers, the public, and official bodies. Deliver projects to the customer’s satisfaction. Produce accurate and high-quality monthly reports for both the client and internal use. Chair weekly site meetings in accordance with company procedures. Ensure all "as-built" information is accurately recorded and relevant.Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Comply with company procedures and legal obligations while promoting best practices. Establish and maintain safe working cultures and environmental compliance. Manage construction sites and subcontractors, fostering positive working relationships. Keep all HSEQ-related documentation up to date and ensure necessary briefings are conducted. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections, ensuring all audits and reports are completed. Liaise with third parties and government agencies as required. Maintain and manage the QA file. Ensure defect-free and on-time project delivery.Cost Control Manage and maintain the project cost plan. Maximise project value while maintaining commercial tension to drive out unnecessary costs. Ensure detailed site diaries and records are completed.Managing Resources Address any actual or potential resource issues promptly. Maintain complete and accurate records of all resources.Key Measures and Targets Meet monthly and weekly reporting deadlines. Ensure alignment with Business Unit Objectives. Meet 3 Pillar KPI measures.Key Relationships Customers and stakeholders. Subcontractors and suppliers. Site teams and support departments.Person Specification:The successful candidate is likely to meet the following criteria: Essential Extensive experience in Civil Engineering. Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control (including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting). Strong understanding of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent. CSCS card. SMSTS card. Full driving licence. Excellent communication, people, and team management skills, with the ability to motivate others. Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems effectively. Demonstrates the right behaviours to align with company values.Desirable Working towards CEng, IEng AMICE, or equivalent. Experience in the water sector. Temporary Works Coordinator qualification. Leadership experience. Service avoidance training. Confined space training. Appointed Person CPCS card.
