Transfer to the Metropolitan Police Service
Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) Close Protection teams are responsible for the armed personal security of the Royal Family, Government Ministers and visiting VIPs. They are London based but with travel across the UK and overseas.
We are looking for dynamic officers who have a strong track record of delivery across a variety of environments and are both willing and able to work towards RaSP’s objectives within a culture of change.

Work Involves:
* Planning and delivery of armed protection operations in the UK and overseas;
* Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve joint delivery of agreed objectives;
* Ensuring compliance with mandatory training.
Eligibility
Substantive Police Constables who are current nationally qualified protection officers.
Insight Sessions
We will be holding a number of insight sessions to provide more detail about the respective transferee and selection processes. These will be held on the following dates:
* Wednesday 13th November – MS Teams
* Wednesday 27th November – In person – Central London
* Wednesday 4th December – MS Teams

There is no requirement to email us if you will be joining one of the MS Teams sessions.
Selection Process & Timeline

* Values based interview with HR
* Verify Chronical Training Record
* Post Selection Pre-employment checks:
o Attendance management Review
o PDR Review
o Medical
o Fitness/JRFT
o Vetting
* 2 day assessment with RaSP
Details of timescales for the transferee process will be provided at the insight sessions.
The 2 day assessment is mandatory and you will be required to pass this in order to progress. Please consider this when applying and allow flexibility with engagements during this period in order to attend. RaSP will provide overnight accommodation for 1 night during this assessment.
Please note that RaSP will be unable to on-board you until MV/SC has been completed. The timescales for vetting may vary depending on individual circumstances.
