Support the Industrial Performance Manager on a day to day basis and lead the implementation of digital improvement projects to ensure products are produced at required quality levels and as efficiently as possible in line with Schneider Production Systems (SPS) philosophy, also assisting with the day to day function of the Production / Quality Engineering department. This role will have a strong focus towards the implementation of digital improvement projects aligned to the company smart factory objectives. The role will require a good level of digital competency, understanding of network connectivity & the ability to write/understand coding would be advantageous. Key responsibilities include managing the industrialisation of new or existing products or process changes in line with SMART Factory and Digital journey, managing application of modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques (industrial excellence / lean manufacturing), managing the construction and infrastructure aspects of any building work necessary to effect assembly / manufacturing process transfer or achieve Lean manufacturing objectives. Other key responsibilities include ensuring work centre information held on the manufacturing system is regularly reviewed and updated, leading PFMEA and the implementation of poka yoke and Jidoka, ensuring standardization between each line and control industrial indicators, continual analysis and improvement of assembly and manufacturing techniques through benchmarking, eliminating waste, eliminating any potential customer product quality issues and to meet the recommendations of any Health and Safety / Environmental / Energy risk assessments & impacts. The role also requires demonstrating productivity / material improvement through these actions, compiling comprehensive product assembly and manufacturing manuals with clear and concise instruction/visual aids, developing & implementing new digital technologies and successfully project managing the implementation for any projects/plant/tooling, etc., which may be required to improve the efficiency, or reduce the costs of manufacture/assembly processes ensuring that health and safety regulations are accounted for. Additional responsibilities include supporting/facilitating a number of Kaizen improvement and providing advise, components/parts, external information, PC training, financial assistance /justifications and presentation packages to ensure the groups operate as effectively as possible. The role will also assist with the day to day Digital SIM issues supporting the department ensuring that, with the departmental manager, resources are best deployed to suit the priorities of the business. Implement and promote \"I see I do\" philosophy. Project manages significant cost reduction /process improvement projects leading a cross functional team against the business objectives. Required skills and capabilities include HNC / Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience, extensive understanding of general mechanical / production engineering principles, systems and machine operation, extensive experience in PLC / Scada and also in Digital Tools (Software, programming), can write and interrogate programming languages - Java, Python, C++, engineering background and can also decipher SW programs, strong background in LEAN Manufacturing.
