Job Title: SC Cleared Infrastructure Virtualisation Engineer
Location: Corsham/hybrid - 3-4 days per week onsite
Salary/Rate: Up to £550 per day INSIDE IR35
Start Date: Immediate
Job Type: 6 month contract initially + extensions

Company Introduction
Coltech is partnered with a prestigious government client who are looking for an experienced SC Cleared Infrastructure Virtualisation Engineer to join their team for a 6 month contract.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, build and validate all virtualisation components which form part of the client's platform.
2. Production and review of all levels of design artefacts.
3. Supporting wider system testing activities.
4. Working with Service Management to resolve issues.
5. Build, configuration and support of virtualisation environment to support application server deployments.
6. Cross functional support for Windows Server team to assist with build and configuration of VMs and storage, including GPU deployment.
7. Support for other technical teams, including Windows Server, Networks, client device and automation teams.
8. Support for testing and integration.
Required Skills/Experience:
1. Demonstrable experience within the industry with detailed knowledge and understanding of the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of VMware ESXi, Distributed Virtual Switches, Distributed Power Management, VMware vCenter, Clustering etc.
2. At least one professional Virtualisation certification that has been obtained within the last five years, i.e. VMware VCP (VMware vCenter Certified Professional) or similar.
3. Microsoft MCSE/MCSA qualification or similar in Server 2012R2/16/19/22.
4. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems and propose new ideas.
5. Delivering against high pressure timelines and in complex organisations.
6. The ability to respond to changing project time scales and prioritise work accordingly.
7. Competency in MS Office Suite.
Desired Skills/Experience:
1. Working within the public sector.
2. Delivering accredited secure solutions within the UK Public Sector.
3. Experience in large virtualisation infrastructure environments that operate at scale.
4. Microsoft server management tools including SCOM/MECM administration.
5. Configuration of networks with knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
6. Knowledge of the Atlassian toolset (JIRA and Confluence) to record and document work.
7. A firm grasp of service management tooling and ITIL knowledge/certification.
8. Cisco Network Administration experience or certification (CCNA/CCNP).
9. A Computer Science university-based education at Bachelors or Masters level or equivalent experience.
