A family led business since the late 1880s that is recognised as one of the UK's leading Sawmilling companies currently has a vacancy for a full-time Electrical Engineer to join the team based within the Nairn area. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the main purpose of this role would be to take ownership for all aspects in maintaining and repairing site machinery.
Along with a salary of up to £42,000 per annum, you will also receive life assurance, a pensions scheme, and training & development.
As Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Always complying with legal obligations, safe working practices as detailed in Risk Assessment, Methods Statements, work instructions, permit to work and guidance from management.
2. Effectively communicating with Production staff to ensure breakdowns and maintenance are carried out and managed in a timely and efficient way.
3. Providing feedback on-going work being done, needing done, or completed to the operator or supervisor of the department.
4. Having clear and precise communication with your shift supervisor daily to determine workload.
5. Identifying areas and new approaches in line with LEAN principles.
6. Actively working on improving the effectiveness of PPMs.
7. Ensuring all work is completed as per agreed work plan instruction.
8. Ensuring every job is successfully passed on to the next shift or continued to be worked on in order to avoid downtime.
Key Performance Indicators (not limited to):
1. Reducing downtime.
2. Aim for zero Health & Safety issues.
3. PPMs completed correctly - taking manufacturers recommendations into account.
We're looking for an Electrical Engineer with the following skills and experience:
1. HNC/HND/C&G or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
2. Maintenance experience in automation processes would be preferable, but not essential.
3. Fault finding in PLC systems would be preferable, but not essential.
4. Maintain installation infrastructure.
5. The ability to follow PPM schedules.
6. The ability to work safely, under pressure, in a production environment.
7. Comfortable using an e-maintenance system.
8. Computer proficiency.
