Job Duties:
The Teacher of Design and Technology will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum. They will assess student progress, provide feedback, and support the overall development of students' design and technology skills. The teacher will also create a stimulating learning environment, manage classroom behaviour, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department's curriculum.
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Relevant degree in Design and Technology or related field
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Design and Technology
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at the secondary school level
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Design and Technology or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Design and Technology at the secondary school level
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent understanding of design principles and technology concepts
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for design and technology education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Education
- Experience implementing project-based learning approaches
- Previous experience working in a diverse school environment
Working Conditions:
The Teacher of Design and Technology will work in a school setting, following the academic calendar. They may need to attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions outside of regular school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
