An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bulk Logistics Coordinator to join a growing logistics team. This new role has been created to support the expanding internal bulk customer base and a recently secured long-term contract across multiple locations, including Birkenhead, Runcorn, and Ellesmere Port.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the Forwarding Team, working closely with transport and operational teams to ensure efficient coordination of shipments, deliveries, and stock management. They will be responsible for maintaining high service levels, liaising with customers, and managing key logistics functions.
The Candidate;
Previous experience of working within a fast paced logistics, freight or transport environment
Strong communication and people skills with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Experience in transport planning (container, bulk chemicals, and steel commodities) is highly desirable
Customer account management within bulk chemicals logistics.
Ability to draft quotations, liaise with suppliers, and obtain competitive rates.
Understanding of UK sea terminal operations is desirable
Knowledge of transport requirements for bulk commodities is desirable
Experience with Destin8 functions, including cargo manifesting and clearance checks is desirable
Duties and Responsibilities;
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing up-to-date shipment information from start to finish.
Coordinate delivery and collection schedules, ensuring operational and forwarding teams are informed.
Work with internal and external terminals to plan transport and meet customer requirements.
Source competitive transport rates and draft formal quotations for potential customers.
Manage customer accounts, identifying and developing sales opportunities.
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and error-free.
Maintain and update stock and delivery records, sharing relevant information with clients and internal teams.
Oversee weighbridge operations, book hauliers for loading slots, and issue delivery notes.
Monitor and update charge sheets, stock sheets, and reservation bookings for transport and vessel operations.
Support the transport team with planning duties during annual leave cover.
Provide general administrative and operational support across the wider logistics team.
