Summary of the role
This is a full-time Senior or Principal Planner role located in Hitchin at Barker Parry Town Planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a diverse range of planning schemes, including householder applications and residential and commercial developments. You will also undertake site promotions, including Local Plan site promotions and Local Plan monitoring. Principal Planners can also expect to advise Clients on Conditions and potential Appeals, attend and present at Planning Committees, and contribute to business development via social media.

Skills
You will have 2-3+ years’ experience in either the private or public sector and be working towards RTPI Chartered Membership. A full, clean driving licence is a must and access to a car for site visits and committees/meetings would be desirable. You’ll revel in exacting accuracy and attention to detail, exercise judgement in prioritising workload under pressure, and be able to estimate and manage fee budgets. You’ll be a team player who actively looks for ways to support colleagues in their work and who strongly commits to personal integrity and client confidentiality.
