An additional Generator engineer is required by our Service Department. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the field of industrial diesel engines. The primary role of this position is the servicing, repairing, and overhauling of diesel engines on our own and our customers' generating sets.
Duties:
1. On-site servicing of customer diesel generating sets at locations across the UK.
2. Identification and diagnosis of faults and subsequent rectification and testing of equipment.
3. Ability to carry out temporary repairs to keep the client operational whilst the correct parts are ordered.
4. Occasional work away from home depending on site locations.
5. Participation in the 24/7 call-out service rota.
6. Involvement in other aspects of operations such as generator installation, fabrication work, and UPS battery build installations.
Additional Duties:
* Call Out Rota – approx 1 week in 8.
* Generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises.
* Generator Load Testing.
* Generator fault finding.
* Basic Generator electrical repairs.
* Attendance of Factory Training Courses is mandatory.
Experience / Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years experience working in the diesel generator field.
* City & Guilds / NVQ in engineering.
* Knowledge of a variety of manufacturer’s equipment.
* Manufacturers Training Courses would be an advantage.
* Ability to work as a team player and also unsupervised.
* Clean Driving Licence.

* Served a recognised apprenticeship.
* Computer literate, with knowledge of Word, Excel, PLC languages, and other software an advantage.
* Experience in UPS systems.
* Happy to multitask.
