Job overview
John Taylor Multi Academy Trust (JTMAT) believes in the power of education to improve lives – and the world. As a partner academy in JTMAT, we are seeking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic and creative teacher to join our evolving organisation. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, resilient and creative teacher who has a passion for English Language and the world of Literature. They will be committed to delivering active and engaging learning, which enthuses young people and motivates them to want to succeed.
Working collaboratively to develop high quality and well-resourced lessons for the delivery of the subject across all Key Stages, they will be able to teach English to GCSE; the ability to teach to A level is not essential, but is desirable. Being part of a dynamic team of teachers who want the best possible outcomes for our young people, they will set targets that stretch and challenge students of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions.
If you have a passion for excellence and share our vision, we can offer you the opportunity to be part of a successful and progressive Trust, which is committed to ensuring learning is at the heart of all we do.
If you would like to discuss this role, please contact Victoria Deer, Deputy Headteacher, by emailing headteacherpa@phs.jtmat.co.uk or telephoning 01283 247900. We welcome visits from candidates in advance; we would love to show you our wonderful library which is currently being vastly extended – due to open February 2025. Please book this with Mrs Helen Peach (Headteacher’s PA).

Values and vision: At the core of Paulet High School’s ethos is encouraging achievement in a positive environment. Key to this is ensuring the school is safe and welcoming, and at the heart of the Stapenhill community. Students are guided to become inquiring and inquisitive thinkers with a thirst for knowledge, looking to the future while embracing tradition. All pupils are encouraged to fulfil their potential, both academically and personally.
Paulet Character is fully embedded in all areas of the school.
The secondary school participates in a wide range of sporting activities within the local Schools’ Sports Association. Soccer, cricket, netball, athletics, badminton, rounders, and hockey are all played successfully. Students may move forward from school representation to district and then county level.
Ofsted report: “Improving literacy standards at key stage 3 has been a major priority for the school since the last inspection. Reading ages are carefully tracked. Pupils receive additional reading lessons and participate in regular reading challenges. As a result, the number of pupils in Year 7 who are not able to read at their chronological age has significantly reduced. Most-able readers are given more challenging texts to ensure that they continue to develop their reading skills.”
