We have an opening for a full time Field Service/On-site Calibration Technician position traveling to various customers’ sites throughout New England from our Chelmsford, MA laboratory. This position requires calibrating a wide variety of test and measuring equipment, process and temperature control equipment.

Primary Objectives:
* Ensure all calibrations are performed in accordance with written procedures and/or approved industry standards.
* Ensure that all work is performed with our mission statement of: quality, capability and timeliness.
* Ensure that all standards used are within their calibration due date before use, return standards to the lab when due for recalibration.
* Ensure compliance with the Essco Quality System.
* Complete each assigned job on time and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Document and evaluate the results of calibrations performed.
* Report to the customer and document any discrepancies with the customer’s equipment, including but not limited to: out of tolerances, performance limitations, damage, etc.
* Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts and team meetings.
* Make recommendations for training programs and cross-training.
* Keep yourself abreast and trained to changing industry standards or processes.
* Uphold high ethical standards and provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
* Must be able to work independently without supervision.
* Work to understand client needs and requirements through effective communication, develop customer relationships through excellent customer service by asking and answering calibration questions as needed.
* Excellent organization skills with the ability to handle a busy schedule.
* Knowledgeable of basic IT setup skills to set up laptop and printer at customer sites.
* Understand and comply with customer safety requirements and always considers safety when executing tasks and projects.
* Completes calibrations in a safe, timely, and accurate manner, following Essco and customer specific templates and procedures.
* Responsible for proper handling, transportation and maintenance of Essco and customer equipment, including testing and standards equipment.
* Identify project supply and equipment needs and conveys to the appropriate resource to ensure availability.
* Timesheets and expenses are completed daily with accurate expenses and notes.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
* High School diploma (required).
* Three years experiences as an on-bench technician.
* PMEL training or equivalent formal technical training.
* Able to apply metrology experience to a wide range electronic instrumentation.
* Familiar with the requirements of ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and ANSI/NCSL Z-540.
* Computer literate and ability to use lab management software.
* Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
Physical Demands:
* Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
* Required to walk; climb or balance.
* May be required to lift and/or move up to 85 pounds.
Work Environment:
* Up to several hours daily driving in your personal vehicle.
* Customer sites which include, professional lab environments, clean rooms, or manufacturing floors.
* Exposure to moving mechanical parts, pressurized cylinders, chemicals and high voltage power.
* Routine use of customer space or Essco space using office equipment including computers, copiers, and phones.
* Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
