The key aim of this post will be to support the Breast Unit working with the existing Consultant team to deliver a high-quality clinical service to patients with breast cancers with a workload of 300 new radiotherapy patients per annum. The post holder will make a major contribution to the Unit’s programs of research including the development and implementation of new radiotherapy techniques as well as support for current and future clinical trials in this area.
This post has clinical commitments at both St Georges Hospital and Sutton, and a key role is to strengthen the joint working with the breast units at St Georges and Kingston Hospitals. The post holder will also be involved in the education and/or training of other radiotherapy professionals in precision radiotherapy, including therapy radiographers, physicists, and clinical oncologists.
1. To provide advice on clinical oncology aspects of treatment and care for colleagues in other specialties within The Royal Marsden.
2. To attend the unit-specific MDTs.
3. To participate in and support the multidisciplinary care team which includes Medical Oncologists, Clinical Oncologists, Surgeons, the relevant junior team, Specialist Nursing Staff, Therapists, Dietician, Social worker, Palliative Care, and Counselling for patients and families.
