Trustee Vacancies X2: Trustee, and Chair of Finance and Risk Committee
We have an exciting opportunity for two volunteers to join our Trust Board. We aim to challenge, inspire and raise aspirations. We credit our success to our collaborative atmosphere. Through innovative and inspiring curriculums, we enthuse passion at subject level and beyond. We are proud to provide a nurturing environment that allows students to become curious, resilient, and confident individuals.
We are looking for self-motivated and proactive individuals who are empathetic and welcoming and able to build a rapport and trust with our senior leadership team, staff, students, and our wider community. We want someone who shares our passion for providing students an outstanding education and someone who believes wholeheartedly in our vision. We are looking for trustees who understand how they can best work in an 'eyes on, hands off' way to support our amazing school to deliver an excellent education for all of our students.
Diversity is important to us. We work hard to make sure we're representative of the city of Gloucester where we're based and to provide an inclusive environment for our diverse student population. Growing a diverse governing board is a top priority for our trustees.
The ideal trustee candidate would have some experience of governance, either through school or charity governance roles or through working with a school trust board as a senior member of staff in a school. If you don't have this experience, but feel you are ready to step up to a governance role, please do get in touch for a conversation.
The ideal Chair of our Finance and Risk Committee would also have a background in accounting or in school finance and an understanding of charity or school accounts, as well as a strong understanding of risk management.
The Trust Board meets 6 times per year on weekday evenings, and trustees are also expected to visit the school 2-3 times per year, sit on subcommittees, and occasionally attend school events as well as to complete regular training. The expected time commitment is around 10 hours per month.
To express your interest and hear more about either role, please email chairoftrustees@denmarkroad.org.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All our Trustees are subject to an enhanced DBS clearance and receipt of two satisfactory references.
