Job Description:
We are looking for a Metal Polishing and Inspection Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for polishing and inspecting components to ensure they meet the required standards, and using a variety of equipment to ensure the quality of finished goods.
As a Metal Polishing and Inspection Technician, you will polish components to different finishes, including standard eighty-grit belt finish, sateen, super sateen, and mirror finishes. You will also be responsible for inspecting finished goods, subcontract work, and purchased parts using various inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, PI tapes, CMM, or Faro systems.
In addition, the Metal Polishing and Inspection Technician will perform magnetic particle inspection (MPI), process audits, calibration of measuring equipment, and enter technical data into computer spreadsheets. You will also ensure that non-conforming parts are reported, and first and last inspection reports are signed.
Your attention to detail will help ensure zero defects reach the end user, and you will be instrumental in supporting quality control processes across the company. The Metal Polishing and Inspection Technician will collaborate closely with the quality team to maintain high standards and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in metal polishing and inspection, with expertise in polishing to various finishes, including sateen, super sateen, and mirror.
* Strong understanding of inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers, PI tapes, and CMM or Faro systems.
* Experience with Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and process auditing.
* Knowledge of calibration procedures for measuring equipment.
* Ability to sign inspection reports and report non-conforming parts.
* Experience with data entry and technical documentation.
* Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
