The Hadley Group is a globally successful company and winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation, the UK’s most prestigious award for business performance. With their headquarters in the West Midlands, they design and provide technology to their seven global sites in the UK, Europe, the US, and the Middle East.
Hadley wishes to implement AI technology in the heart of their design capability. The intention is that during this initial three-year project, the successful person evolves to be employed as Hadley’s permanent AI lead. This is the preferred route Hadley uses to employ high calibre people, including the current Group Engineering Director and Board member, and the Director of Technology, the latter being the industrial manager responsible for this project.

Salary (Grade): £33,000 - £45,000 plus a Personal Development Budget
Hours: Full-time
Contract Type: Fixed-term for 36 months initially
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person to fast track their career. The successful candidate will have a personal training budget of £6,000 enabling the purchase of bespoke training. In addition, extensive practical and formal training, including residential management training courses, will be provided.
The training and support from Brunel University enables the appointed person to work at the Hadley headquarters in the West Midlands to implement AI techniques to assist the Design Team in the design of complex roll tooling, which is the core of Hadley’s economic success.
The Candidate
We are looking for a candidate with a good degree in a relevant subject which could be computer science, engineering, maths, or another technology subject and either has experience in AI techniques or is willing to learn. If a candidate has a master's degree, PhD, or significant relevant experience, then this will be recognised in the starting salary.
The successful candidate will be based at Hadley’s West Midlands headquarters and must reside within a reasonable daily commuting distance.
The successful candidate will have the ability to plan and organise their own workload, and be able to work to a deadline. You must be willing to take ownership of the project, including management of finances, resources, and timing.
