Job summary We're seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Associate Psychologist looking to develop their career, to join our HYPED (Hampshire and Isle of Wight Early Detection) service; a new, forward-thinking team dedicated to early intervention for individuals aged 14-35 at high risk of developing psychosis. The service offers assessments, key working support for up to two years, and a range of psychological and psychosocial interventions to improve long-term outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to take on a varied role that goes beyond traditional CAP responsibilities. Delivering low-intensity therapy and CCC formulations, you'll also lead on holistic intake assessments, case-holding clients, and providing family interventions. You'll help shape service development, from creating psychoeducation materials to leading community engagement initiatives. Unlike most roles, you'll gain experience across both adolescent and adult cohorts, broadening your clinical skills and career prospects. We invest in your growth, offering extensive training, including a two-day CAARMS assessment course, five-day Family Interventions training, and specialist CBT workshops. You'll receive monthly clinical and group supervision, plus mentoring from experienced psychologists and CBT therapists. Leadership opportunities include training as a CAARMS supervisor and supporting STR workers within the team. Main duties of the job To communicate constructively with a range of healthcare professionals in a variety of services including nurses, social workers, allied health professionals (AHPs) and medical colleagues as part of a multi-professional team Link directly with the psychology team, alongside assistant psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists, while reporting to a Clinical Psychologist regarding psychological assessment, formulation and intervention Build relationships with professionals in schools, probation services, the police and the courts, depending upon the appropriate training and supervised clinical practice delivered as part of their apprenticeship Work as part of a multi-professional community team or in specialised clinical settings and liaise with relevant external agencies to facilitate and enable psychological interventions Communicate new learning approaches and provide constructive feedback to challenge and overcome barriers to implementation of best psychological practice Communicate to others the core concepts of psychological theory, research and practice in order to enhance their delivery of psychological interventions.
