Seeking a consultant gastroenterologist for a full time position with a premier general hospital on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. Position Highlights Permanent FTE post in a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people. The hospital is a modern facility with a full range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services, including MRI, and is one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand gastroenterology services are housed in one place providing 2 procedure rooms, patient recovery, resource and administration areas, clinic spaces and meeting rooms busy service provides over 3,000 endoscopy procedures per year and approximately 2,000 outpatient appointments. Gastroenterology team currently comprises three gastroenterologists, and nurses lead by two registered nurses with extensive gastroenterology outpatient, and endoscopy experience job involves teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement 40 hour week plus on call rota Requirements FRACP or equivalent qualification accepted by the Medical Council of New Zealand Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand Benefits Competitive salary in accordance with ASMS MECA or IEA Additional allowances for on-call duties 6% employer contribution to pension scheme 6 weeks annual leave and 10 days study leave with $16,000 annual allowance Comprehensive relocation package and visa sponsorship for eligible candidates Opportunities to develop subspecialist interests Hastings Hawkes Bay Located on New Zealand's North Island East Coast, Hastings is the twin city of Napier and sits 18km inland.
