Are you a Duty Fleet Manager looking to take on a new contract role? TXM is excited to announce an opportunity with a well-established train operating company. We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable DFM to take on this 6 Month rolling contract.
The purpose of this role is to ensure the fleet of rolling stock that experience faults are correctly mitigated in a safe manner to ensure that the operational impact on the customers is minimal. As the Duty Fleet Manager, you will be required to document and communicate these faults with high levels of technical quality, understanding, and accuracy.
Other responsibilities of this role will include:
* Fleet Maintenance and Quality Oversight: The post holder ensures fleet availability, quality, and safety standards are achieved by actively managing the Fleet Maintainer, including monitoring and improving defect reporting and work order processes through SRMS.
* Operational Communication and Coordination: Attend twice-nightly production meetings to communicate daily operational requirements, ensure all unit concessions are authorized and recorded, and facilitate the movement of defective units for maintenance.
* Log and Handover Management: Maintain a Duty Fleet Manager Log and Diary, review the previous day’s Control Log, and ensure comprehensive handovers are provided to their relief.
* Defect Recovery and Industry Compliance: Consult with the DOTE for recovering defective units in line with industry standards, monitor maintenance facility offers to avoid conflicts, and ensure best practices for defect recovery using the DST.
* Data Management and Reporting: Populate and maintain required information gathering systems and escalate issues to the TSDM and fleet team as necessary to ensure effective planning and execution of maintenance strategies.
Other duties may include ensuring spreadsheets are populated and updated, managing health and safety of the site and staff, holding meetings between our client and third parties, as well as many more!
What is needed from you:
* Experience of managing an operations team in a high-pressure environment.
* Knowledge of rules and regulations and industry standards.
* Understanding of company safety policy and procedures.
* IOSH certification.
* Fire safety knowledge.
* Core management skills.
