Commercial Underwriter – Property & Casualty

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and career driven trading underwriter to join our Southampton based commercial underwriting team. This is a great job for someone that is a multiclass underwriter (Property & Casualty and/or Motor Trade) who can operate within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow a book of commercial Mid–Market business.
A bit about the job:
You will be part of a Commercial Underwriting team and will be specifically focused on Property & Casualty underwriting. This role will be specifically aligned to one broker group and you will play a vital role in driving the success of developing our commercial book of business with this broker. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to write new business are a requirement of this role along with the ability to deliver an excellent broker/customer experience. This role does require the ability to travel between the aligned brokers’ offices.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Commercial Underwriting experience in Property & Casualty
* Confident decision maker, with strong initiative and high-learning agility
* Excellent communication, listening and negotiating skills and passionate about delivering brilliant customer service to build and maintain positive relationships with brokers driving business growth
* Strong organisation and prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines
* Computer Literate, comfortable navigating multiple systems

* Starting salary Competitive (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
