You will work closely with the Data Engineer and be responsible for data analysis that will support new product development as well as tracking the performance of existing products to inform ongoing optimisation. You will prepare data for consumption by creating data products and consolidate, synthesis and combine data to derive insights and new data products. You will work with data sets in areas such as satellite imagery, weather, soil, as well as data ingestion and layering.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work across multiple product teams and develop close working relationships with key stakeholders understanding their needs and finding innovative solutions and deliver key insights.
2. Create and enrich existing data sets and communicate the value of the data set and data products.
3. Modernise, automate, and streamline data to optimise capability.
4. Build new georeferenced data products.
5. Enhance existing georeferenced data using the latest tools to increase its value.
6. Build automated performance trackers and dashboards and where appropriate balancing business need with technical debt.
Essential Skills:
* An excellent understanding of data types and data environments.
* A good understanding of datasets, georeferencing and cartography and the ability to apply the techniques to the precision agriculture value chain.
* Advanced SQL skills and experience querying large sets of data.
* Experience of Python, AWS Glue and Amazon Redshift.
* Experience of creating and using a data lake would be desirable.
* Knowledge of Lambda is advantageous.
