This Adult MSK Team has a 0.7 wte vacancy which we wish to fill with a dynamic passionate advanced physiotherapist who wishes to join our existing team of band 8's in our MSK Assessment Service. We are looking for an APP with a wide range of experience in the management and treatment of MSK Conditions. We are currently setting up a primary care ultrasound and injection service to provide patients with consultation, ultrasound and injection on the same day.
Main duties of the job
Whilst undertaking comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs, you will triage, assess and manage including the ordering and interpreting of diagnostic tests. This will include key communication skills in presenting cases in the well-established MDT meetings.
Your application should demonstrate evidence of your advanced skills including assessment, investigations, making referrals, injection therapy or ultrasonography.
SCAS has close ties with the MSK physiotherapy Service and you will be instrumental in providing teaching, supervision and support to our large physiotherapy staff. There are also close links with the Enfield Pain Service. Developing and promoting a positive and dynamic image and culture, you will be key in fostering productive relationships with key stakeholders such as local GP's, and provide support and training to other clinical staff and students.

Job responsibilities
The post holder is part of the MSK physiotherapy team providing high quality physiotherapy services to meet the needs of a multicultural and diverse population of the London Borough of Enfield.
As one of the most senior members of the musculoskeletal physiotherapy service and as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP), your role will include screening, filtering referrals and managing the care of those patients who otherwise would have been referred to and seen by a hospital Consultant. To achieve this the post-holder will work outside the normal scope of physiotherapy practice, facilitating Role Redesign and Service Modernisation across Primary and Secondary care.
To provide the highest level of expertise on musculoskeletal conditions within the physiotherapy service, providing expert advice to other services and professionals including GPs and hospital medical staff.
Participate actively in the senior management of the Physiotherapy service contributing to its wider support and development.
Person Specification
Education / Qualification
* Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
* MSc in Physiotherapy Degree/degree equivalent.
* HCPC Registered.
* Recognised/validated orthopaedic MSK postgraduate training.
* Relevant evidence of CPD.
* Non Medical Prescriber.
* Any relevant leadership and management training, e.g. process mapping and redesign; demand and capacity.
* US qualification and Injection Therapy qualification.
Previous Experience
* Minimum of 9 years post grad experience of which 5 years at Senior level in MSK outpatients including GP direct access work and the management of complex and chronic conditions.
* Evidence of organisational and supervisory experience.
* Experience of working at an APP level in Primary Care.
* Experience in teaching at regional level.
Skills and Aptitudes
* Able to process manage and communicate highly complex information to colleagues and patients who may be emotionally distressed or antagonistic.
* Advanced level of expertise in the management of MSK problems and up to date clinical skills across a broad spectrum of approaches to the management of musculoskeletal problems, utilising advanced manual assessment and treatment and therapeutic handling skills.
* Ability to performance manage and develop staff.
* Ability to interpret investigations and present cases clearly at MDT.
* Involvement in National interest groups and or CSP at Branch or board level.
* Participation in peer network for personal support and development.
Knowledge Awareness and Understanding
* Understanding of own personal development and learning needs.
* Awareness of the modernisation agenda in relations to musculoskeletal services.
* Advanced grasp of the management of complex pain and chronic conditions underpinned by a broad base.
Other Essential Factors
* Excellent working knowledge of NHS systems of care, processes and relationships.
* Ability to meet the demands of the post including travel.
* Fluent in any other local language.

£59,490 to £66,239 a year per annum, pro rata, inclusive of outer London HCAS.
