Within our 14 theatres at Basildon & Orsett Hospitals, we undertake the following surgical specialties: Upper and lower GI, Vascular, Urology, Gynecology, Breast, Obstetrics, Maxillo-facial, ENT, Trauma and Emergency, Orthopaedics, Head and Neck surgery, pain management surgery, and elective and emergency C-sections.
We are looking for enthusiastic Registered Nurses/ODPs with sound clinical knowledge and theatre clinical skills or a desire to develop into a Theatre Practitioner's role. You will preferably have theatre experience and the ability to provide high-quality patient care within the perioperative setting. Training can also be provided to newly registered practitioners and to those who are looking for a new career direction. Knowledge of teamwork, team values, and safe patient care is very important to this role.

Main Duties of the Job
If successful, you will be fully supported on our development programme until you are able to undertake the full range of duties, which include:
* Ensuring all patients receive the highest possible standard of care, supported by evidence-based practice.
* Taking part in cross-site rotation to meet the needs of the service on a 24-hour basis.
* Taking charge of a clinical area on a regular basis following successful completion of a development programme.
* Working within the multi-disciplinary team ensuring good professional relationships.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse NMC or ODP HCPC
* ENB 183 or equivalent ENB 998, MIP's or TDLB or evidence of working towards
* Post-registration qualification for day surgery or theatre practice or with relevant level of clinical experience demonstrating ability to work without clinical supervision in a specialist area of theatre or day surgery
Experience
* Previous experience working in NHS or acute care setting
* Previous experience of working on a surgical ward or within a surgical environment

Salary: £29,970 per annum (Pro Rata for Part Time)
