The Role:
Worcestershire County Council are seeking to recruit a net zero transport manager to be at the forefront of proposals to facilitate the transition to ultra low emissions vehicles. This is a unique role, focusing on the policy and projects to facilitate the transition away from internal combustion engines to ultra low emission vehicles. Initially the focus of the role will be on electric vehicles and the delivery of charging infrastructure provided through the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure fund, and delivery of Worcestershire’s first Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be part of the Planning and Transport Planning Team, working alongside the Sustainability Team, and will have experience of sustainability strategy and policy, with a particular focus on reducing carbon emissions. A detailed knowledge of Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure fund will be advantageous along with an understanding of wider sustainability policy in a local government context.
Essential Skills:
Essential skills for the role include working experience in clean energy in partnerships which span public and private sectors along with project delivery. The post holder should also have experience of working in local government or a political environment, and have developed and delivered policies and strategies. The post holder must be able to communicate through a range of formats, including through the written and spoken word and to engage positively with the local community.
