Legal Counsel – Edinburgh or Glasgow / Hybrid (Assignment 16584)
We have been instructed on this new in-house position by our client, a leading financial services organisation. Due to business growth, the legal team is currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join them in either of its Glasgow or Edinburgh office.
The ideal candidate will have between 2-6 years PQE and demonstrate expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation across various business areas, supporting pension, employer, and financial services clients. Experience within the broader financial services industry and pensions is preferred, while experience within a professional services firm would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing an understanding of key business areas, including but not limited to Actuarial, Defined Contribution Consulting, Investment, and emerging areas like Discretionary Fund Management, while assessing their core propositions and risks to deliver tailored solutions.
2. Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts for a full spectrum of professional services, including consulting, online, and data services.
3. Providing legal support for proposition and client-based projects.

In-House Legal Counsel – Edinburgh (Assignment 16386)
We have been exclusively instructed on this new In-House Legal Counsel role with our client, a well-known organisation within the maritime sector, managing several key locations. This role is based in Edinburgh, and the successful candidate will join its busy Legal Team, reporting directly to the Head of Legal. The role involves advising on commercial contracts, property matters, corporate secretarial duties, and regulatory compliance.
The team is open to candidates at the NQ-3 years’ PQE level, with experience in commercial property, contracts, or corporate law. While applicants don’t require expertise in all three areas, as the role is varied, the team will consider those with experience in just one or two of the areas mentioned.

Group Legal Counsel – Glasgow (Assignment 16350)
Our client, a well-established national business headquartered in Glasgow, is currently recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) and demonstrable expertise in regulatory compliance and commercial contracts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and providing guidance on a range of matters, including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, disputes, commercial property, data protection, and intellectual property. Key responsibilities include:
4. Supporting the General Counsel in the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective compliance policies, procedures, and guidance across the Group, with a specific focus on anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, modern slavery, and other compliance areas as required.
5. Collaborating with project teams across the organisation to provide legal support for strategic initiatives, including joint ventures and redevelopment projects, ensuring successful project outcomes.
6. Assisting in the design and delivery of legal and compliance training for the company’s boards and management teams.

Interim Commercial Contracts Lawyer – Glasgow (Assignment 16673)
This well-regarded construction company in Scotland is currently expanding in Glasgow and is in need of an Interim Commercial Lawyer to join their team for a 12-month FTC.
As part of your responsibilities, you’ll deliver legal services to various internal departments, such as health & safety, procurement, and commercial sectors. Your tasks will cover a wide spectrum, including contract drafting and negotiation, corporate/company law, dispute resolution, compliance & risk management, construction-related advice, insolvency, procurement, insurance, property, and commercial bidding.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years PQE experience, demonstrating significant expertise in general commercial and In-House roles. Non-UK qualified lawyers are also invited to apply, especially those with substantial experience in contracts, public sector procurement, or compliance.

Senior Legal Counsel – Ayrshire (Assignment 16558)
This global business is currently recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team in Ayrshire. The primary focus of this role is to provide advice on portfolio acquisitions and investments, while also supporting the Head of Legal on commercial, transactional, and governance matters as required.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ PQE, with strong experience in transactional corporate work. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a senior role within a close-knit, commercially focused team. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
7. Drafting and negotiating NDAs, data processing agreements, sale and purchase agreements, and ancillary documents related to portfolio acquisitions.
8. Advising the business on contract compliance and termination of existing contracts.
9. Providing general support, advice, and guidance on ad-hoc legal, governance, and regulatory matters.

In-House Litigation Solicitor – Ayrshire (Assignment 15597)
We have been instructed on this unique in-house role with our client with our client, a highly regarded organisation specialising in debt and consumer arrears. There is currently a need for a qualified solicitor to join its busy Legal team on a full-time basis in Ayrshire.
The post-holder can expect to be involved in a range of litigation matters including managing cases of complex disputes, mitigate costs and protecting the reputation of the company. You can also expect to work closely with other stakeholders within the business, as well as customers, legal representatives and third parties of all stages of the litigation process, ensuring positive outcomes through negotiation.
The team is keen to hear from those with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE, and candidate must have some experience in debt recovery or civil litigation. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to move in-house; the team also supports hybrid working with an expectation of 3 days office presence per week.
