Turbine Construction Lead
The NRL Group are currently looking for an experienced Turbine Construction Lead to oversee the delivery of a significant work package on a major power generation construction project in the South West.
What will the role consist of?
* Execution of the discipline works turbine construction strategy as defined by the Construction Manager.
* Creation of a detailed plan and sub schedule to ensure all works within the discipline are completed in accordance with the overall schedule;
* Preparation and pre checks to ensure all materials are available and all required tools and equipment are available;
* Liaise with Engineering on all engineering documentation required for delivery of the turbine discipline work;
* Ensuring the highest quality of workmanship and adherence to the Site Quality Assurance Programme by the subcontractors and/or Self Performance of the discipline work;
* The management of the subcontractors and/or Self Performance appointed to install the works within the discipline to ensure that the works are completed on time and within budget;
* Actively manage all subordinate personnel, subcontractors and/or Self Performance turbine construction resources to optimise the execution of the scope of the discipline works;
* Thorough investigation and taking remedial action within the scope of the discipline works of all variances, deviations, non-conformances, extra works, claims, non-budgeted costs, etc., and coordination with the Site Contracts Manager and other site management to eliminate or minimise the cost impact to the project;
* Maintaining all records of progress within the scope of the discipline works;
* Maintaining all quality records within the scope of the discipline works;
* Managing and maintaining the creation of as-built documentation within the scope of the discipline works;
* Coordination for access to all areas within the scope of the discipline works;
* Communicate directly with construction management and engineering to resolve and/or clarify any technical issues;
* Coordination with the Construction Manager and other disciplines on all issues affecting the scope of the discipline works and interfaces with other works;
* Assist with and provide input to the Construction Monitoring System (CMS);
* Action to ensure all punch list open items are cleared;
EHS Responsibilities:
* Implementation within the discipline scope of works of site specific EHS plan and for providing subordinates with information about hazards, risks and elimination measures applicable to the site;
* Ensuring within the scope of the discipline works that subcontractors and/or Self Performance are in compliance with the EHS requirements at the site;
* Implementation of the necessary EHS procedures within the scope of the discipline works to include review of method statements, risk analysis, safety walks, toolbox talks, etc.
* Closely monitor all activities which could have deleterious effects on the environment;
* Action to ensure all subcontractors and/or Self Performance turbine construction resources maintain all work areas in safe and clean condition and all installed materials are adequately preserved and protected;
* Control and approve timesheets of subordinate personnel and all Self Performance turbine construction resources;
* Maintain a comprehensive and detailed logbook of all relevant events;
* Preparation and submittal of detailed construction reports to site management;
* Conduct assessments and reviews of subordinate personnel.

What we’re looking for:
* Prior experience managing major construction projects/ scope of works in the power generation or other similar industry
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience in mechanical or construction engineering
* Excellent communication skills
* IT skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
