We are looking to recruit a Team Leader and Validator for the busy Admissions department at Whipps Cross Hospital.
To provide support to the Scheduling Delivery Manager and to cover during the manager's annual leave, managing a team of schedulers.
The postholder will lead a team of schedulers to ensure efficient and effective systems of work are carried out.
Responsibilities include attending Daily Ops meetings and theatre planning meetings, running PTL meetings, and managing day-to-day staff activities.
Reporting to the Scheduling Delivery Manager, the postholder will be versed in RTT 18 weeks policies and processes and play an important role in coordinating patients through their clinical pathway in line with the 18 weeks Program.
You will support the Service's monthly Clinical Governance and mortality meetings, ensuring dedicated administrative support, including preparation, coordination of documentation, and follow-up of all administrative actions.
Collaboration with administrative and clinical teams is essential to provide high-quality care for patients across all specialties.
The ability to forge close working relationships with hospital administration staff, clinical staff, and other colleagues is essential. A working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft programs is essential, as is experience with electronic patient record systems.
Main Duties of the Job
The purpose of this post is to actively manage the administrative processes of patient pathways and the 18-week target, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment by the Trust. Additionally, the postholder will participate in providing an effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team.
Ensure the provision of comprehensive and efficient booking and scheduling services for patients, adhering to the Trust's Access policy with national and local access targets.
The role requires the postholder to develop efficient and effective systems of work to ensure that patients experience good communication, choice, and a personal and responsive service.
To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, standard operating procedures (SOP) will describe how the functions of this role will be carried out, along with the timescales that will be adhered to.

Although this position is a 12-month fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalize pre-employment checks.
