Job Description
As a Documentation Manufacturing Engineer:
1. Reviews technical Documentation Package (TDP) to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
2. Coordinates customers’ engineering documents with current rev to include manufacturing specifications to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
3. Processes and incorporates customers’ change orders/new releases (ECOs) which entails releasing updated ECO documents, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) into our MRP system.
4. Creates ECO documents in manufacturing system.
5. Develops As Built Configuration (ABC) for electronic assemblies. The ABC for each assembly shall be identified by part number, revision letter/number, and serial number. The ABC shall be in an electronic media matrix/spreadsheet format, listing all parts and including the following information for each part in the assembly: (1) Indenture level (2) Part Number (3) Part Name (4) Serial/Lot number (as applicable) (5) Quantity (6) As-Built drawing revision letter (7) Related Engineering Order (EO) number (8) Manufacturing Routings.
6. Collaborates with manufacturing and test engineers, and product managers to create and maintain build to print electromechanical manufacturing process documentation for complex products or systems.
7. Writes and edits technical specifications, and other documentation materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility.
8. Develops diagrams, illustrations, and other visual aids to describe how the electronic assemblies are manufactured.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communications, engineering, or a related field.
Three (3) years of related electronic manufacturing experience and/or related experience.
Strong technical writing skills with demonstrated experience creating technical documentation for complex manufactured products or systems.
Proficiency in document management and publishing tools or Microsoft Office. Familiarity with technical concepts and terminology, especially in the military electronic assemblies.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
