Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust
This post is a 12 month fixed term/secondment vacancy.
A new opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 or Band 6 CAMHS Nurse, to join the Northallerton CAMHS Team.
Northallerton CAMHS is a friendly, multi-discipline team, who love to work together to support the needs of children, young people, and their families.
We support one another at every opportunity, and supervision is available regularly and actively encouraged.
As a CAMHS Nurse, you will be involved in providing mental health support and advice to children and young people. You will work collaboratively within the local team, whilst working with other CAMHS teams and external providers.
This really is a varied role, in a friendly team where you will be able to develop skills and experience of working with children and young people.
Nursing applicants should already hold NMC registration.
Candidates seeking the Band 6 role must have 18 months post-qualifying experience, including sign-off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the mental health difficulties experienced by children and young people, and have an understanding of the therapies and other interventions used in treatment. Knowledge and understanding of common neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASC and ADHD, and how these are assessed and treated, is also a requirement of the post; as is the ability to recognize and manage common physical health complications experienced by children and young people experiencing mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties.
The successful applicant will be involved in continuous service development and will work closely with external and internal agencies to review, improve, and deliver services to the community. There is also a requirement to maintain high standards of personal and professional development, and the successful applicant will be expected to train in a specialist modality of therapeutic intervention following their successful preceptorship period.
About us
The Northallerton CAMHS Team works in a busy and dynamic environment, and they pride themselves on being leaders in delivering high-quality compassionate care to children and young people while protecting and promoting staff wellbeing and development.
The successful post holders will be expected to match the ethos of the team and commit to ongoing personal and service development while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and compassion. In return, we will offer a friendly, secure, and professional experience, and investment in your development as a healthcare professional.
Job responsibilities
The post holder will be qualified as a NMC Registered Nurse from either the Mental Health, Children's, or Learning Disability specialisms.
We would welcome applications from RNMH, RNLD, RSCN, or RGN who hold current professional registration with NMC.
