The Data Architect (DA) is responsible for the definition, development, and delivery of the organisations data, business intelligence and database solutions to meet the current and future needs of the Trust, as well as the enterprise-wide management and support of the Trust's database estate and associated data pipelines.
This position is critical to the Trust and IT Department due to the large number of complex clinical applications in use across the Trust and the associated business and clinical dependence on these systems. The post will also be integral to the Trust's EPR programme, and its associated data and database requirements.
The DA reports to the Digital Health Product Development Manager, and will line manage a team of staff directly involved in the management of data, encompassing areas such as database administration, integration, and software development, and will provide support and guidance, and act as a mentor to colleagues within Digital Health.
Main duties of the job
Manage the Trust's Health Intelligence Team.
Create, implement and develop Trust-wide strategies, policies and processes to meet the Trust's data, business intelligence and database requirements.
Lead technical specialist on all Trust data, business intelligence and database technologies.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and opportunities for continual service improvement.
Work closely with the Product Development Manager, IT Security Manager and Technical Services Manager, to maintain a cohesive, safe and secure IT platform for the Trust's IT Systems and environments.
Act as SME for the Trust's data, business intelligence and database solutions, including mentoring.
Management of Database security patching and any relevant out of hours support contracts.

Essential
* Educated master's degree level in IT discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience
Desirable
* Microsoft Certified Specialist in SQL database administration
* Data management qualification
* Industry standard IT qualifications (For Example ITIL)
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* 5 years' experience in an information management role including support of information systems.
* Experience of designing and maintaining SQL database environments.
* Experience in developing and maintaining Business intelligence reporting environments.
* Experience of delivering data pipelines to achieve accurate data availability to other IT systems.
Desirable
* Experience of line managing staff
* Experience of working within an ITIL environment
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
* Able to evidence an understanding of at least 2 of the following: Microsoft server technologies, Database administration, Interfacing technology, Business intelligence reporting systems.
Desirable
* Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
* Ability to explain complex issues to a range of professional staff groups
