Education Services provides support to students and staff across the University and Colleges to enable a high quality, student-focussed experience which gives all students the opportunity to make informed choices prior to applying, to succeed in their studies and to equip themselves for life beyond Cambridge. We are seeking to recruit an internal candidate as Head of Education Digital Services to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, team heads and the Education Portfolio Board to determine the strategy, policies and procedures necessary to support the effective management and provision of digital services across the collegiate University, and to support improved effectiveness and efficiency through better use of technology (in particular the Microsoft suite of applications) to support work in Education Services The main areas of focus include: Collaboration and connection between the University's IT and Digital Services Teams and stakeholders within Education Services, the Schools and Colleges to establish new ways of working Development of new ways of working, including governance Change Management Management & Supervision of Staff Developing & enhancing IT strategy, policy and operations We invite applications from individuals who have: experience of project management and business improvement management in a complex organisation or context experience of applying professional PPM processes to the delivery of IT programmes/projects (that utilise a portfolio of development methods and approaches) and of delivering large-scale multi-project programmes experience of change management experience of higher education administration and of dealing with senior academic and administrative staff evidence of working at a strategic or operational level to deliver change excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong negotiation and influencing skills excellent interpersonal skills and judgement excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills ability to work in a fast changing and developing environment ability to summarise complex problems and suggest solutions concisely and persuasively in a language appropriate to the audience ability to identify and pro-actively manage important risk, issues and problems effectively ability to promote and facilitate the learning and development of other team members through giving clear direction, guidance and feedback on performance In return, we will offer you: a clear training and induction plan regular meetings with your manager a Personal and Professional development plan the opportunity to network with departments within the Student Service Centre, and across the wider University IT equipment to allow for hybrid working when possible, taking into consideration the department needs supportive, inclusive and engaging working environment Further information is available via the link below.
