As an Outreach Support Worker, you will be pivotal in supporting vulnerable children and young people within the community.
You will work with those facing challenges such as family issues, mental health difficulties, school-related concerns, or social isolation.
Your main responsibility will be to provide guidance, advocacy, and practical assistance, ensuring these children receive the support and services they need to thrive.
- Provide one-to-one support for children and young people during outreach activities.
- Assist children in accessing education, healthcare, and other essential services within the community, schools, and other settings.
- Offer emotional support and positive role-modelling, helping to build confidence and resilience.
- Develop and implement personalised support plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, teachers, and other professionals to provide holistic care.
- Advocate on behalf of children to ensure they receive appropriate care, support, and protection.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to monitor progress and outcomes.
- Experience working with children and young people in a care, support, or outreach setting (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with young people.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with children facing a variety of challenges.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding procedures and local support services available to children.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential.)
