Darlington Safeguarding Team is currently undergoing an exciting transformation to continue our journey to build and invest in a safeguarding function that models best national practice and reflects the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP).
We are looking for a permanent Social Worker who is experienced in safeguarding adults and who shares our passion in working with adults and their families. You need to be committed to strength-based practice, focusing on enabling people as much as possible to build on their own networks and strengths as a means of promoting their own safety and overall well-being.
The team is motivated and committed to ensuring Making Safeguarding Personal is embedded in all aspects of work with adults. We have developed strong multi-agency relationships with a range of partners to ensure the principles of MSP are a fundamental feature of the work we undertake with adults. Darlington has a stable provider market and excellent collaborations with stakeholders and partners.
You will provide Safeguarding assessments and interventions for Adults aged 18+ in the Darlington area in line with current legislation. We are based at the Town Hall in Darlington and currently offer a Blended working approach which includes working from home.
The team works proactively with service users, their families, carers, and professionals to safeguard and protect adults at risk. The dynamic nature of the team is underpinned by a passionate commitment to the principles underpinning The Care Act (2014) and strong emphasis on Making Safeguarding Personal.
The successful applicant will:
1. Demonstrate sound assessment and case management skills
2. Be able to work in a busy environment and to tight time scales
3. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Be committed to multi-disciplinary working and making a difference to those we work with
5. Have a good knowledge and understanding of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), the Care Act (2014), and The Human Rights Act (1998)
