Love working in Technology Tax Incentives but not enjoying the work-life balance?
MMP is looking for experienced engineers and scientists that have been working in this specialist field, to become part of our technology consulting team working on a range of IP incentives, grants, loans, and tax reliefs.
Using your engineering knowledge and business experience, your role will be to assess technological innovation to determine if it is eligible for technology tax reliefs. You will do this through face-to-face and/or video interviews with senior technical staff with our clients. Then you will articulate the technology, collect and collate financial data to be mapped to eligible projects, and represent all of this material in a compelling report. You also will assist in responding to HMRC enquiries (perhaps raised on files that you may have prepared), and to help manage those enquiries to a successful outcome for our client.
Technology Tax Reliefs at MMP encompass IP planning audit and advice, Patent estate discovery and landscaping, Patent Box Tax Relief, Video Games Tax Relief, R&D Expenditure Credits (RDEC), R&D Tax Relief, R&D combined relief schemes, ERIS, and Innovation grants.
Qualities of the applicant
This is a client-facing role which requires high-quality output, excellent client management, self-discipline, punctuality, attention to detail, and pride in all aspects of the quality of service being delivered.
Demands of the role
You will be responsible for maintaining excellent standards on your own work, and that of any less experienced staff assisting on the client files for which you have responsibility. Service delivery, project and client management, all form an integral part of the demands of the role. You will be expected to manage your own time, work as a diligent member of a team, and travel across the UK. This is a flexible working role combining office attendance, client site visits, and working from home.
Rewards of the role
You would be joining a company that is growing fast. This is a new position, one of several planned for this year and beyond. You will be dealing with clients’ senior staff and developing new value-added services in an entrepreneurial environment where contribution of ideas is welcomed.
A competitive salary is offered dependent on relevant experience, along with a pension scheme and a generous bonus scheme based on measured client service delivery excellence as well as other exciting company benefits.
