We are looking to recruit a part-timesalaried GP for maternity cover for approximately 6 months or longer. We encourageclinical leadership, career development, and progression to Partnership in timeif mutually agreeable and desirable. We are looking for candidates withenthusiasm for General Practice, who care about its future, who want to getinvolved and who would like the satisfaction that continuity of care, buildingpatient rapport and being part of a team brings to being a GP. We are atraining practice for both specialist trainees and medical students.
Main duties of the job
1. - Consulting patients F2F or via telephone appts.
Co-operating with the admin team on the QOF work (understanding of chronic disease management).
Going to HVs.
Prescribing and signing repeat prescriptions.
Dealing with assigned queries, paperwork and workflow case load.
Attending regular Clinical Governance Meetings.
Support and contribute to the development of Practice clinical procedures and protocols
Accurate and timely input of patient data onto the clinical system
Liaise with other health care professionals when required
Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patient / Practice relationship

The Wand Medical C entre is a friendly GP surgery close to the city centre, with an increasing list size of 6000 patients. We have a well established and stable team of GP's, Practice Nurses, ARRS and Clerical Staff.

Job responsibilities
The following are the main core responsibilities of a salaried GP. These will vary as workload dictates.
Provision of care as detailed in the Primary Care Contract.
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
Effective management of acute and long term conditions.
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions and other administrative tasks.
Undertake Triage and other duty doctor roles
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
Accepting an equal share of the practice workload by working collaboratively.
Work towards innovative practice and quality improvements within the practice.
Assist in the work towards completing QOF across all practices.
Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required.
Complete home visits.
Participate in practice audits as requested.
Participate in the review of significant and near miss events applying a structured root cause analysis approach

2. GMC registered, MBBS or equivalent, MRCGP, inclusion on Performers List

3. Working in primary care in an area with significant health problems, EPS prescribing.
