Job Opportunity: Estimator

We are seeking an Estimator to join a well-established team at a growing company headquartered in Hillsborough. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across Conservation, Refurbishment, Commercial, Public Realm, and Private sectors throughout Ireland and the UK. About the Role
You will be part of the commercial team, collaborating with other departments and playing a key role in tendering, project cost management, and contract administration. The role involves pricing, planning, and project coordination to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations. Occasional travel across Ireland and the UK is required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tendering & Estimation:
o Price tenders, interpret plans, specifications, and drawings to determine project costs.
o Prepare and finalise tenders with management, ensuring deadlines are met.
o Prepare bills of quantities and pricing documents.
o Analyse subcontractor/supplier quotations to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
* Project Coordination & Administration:
o Collaborate with project teams on programming, labour/resource planning, and cost monitoring.
o Document control for QA, health & safety, and post-contract tasks.
o Assist with end-of-project tasks such as O&M manuals and client handovers.
* Client & Team Engagement:
o Attend relevant meetings and site visits as required.
o Prepare and carry out valuations for works completed, including variations.
o Support the Head of Commercial with cost reporting and KPI tracking.
To excel in this role, you should have:
* Qualifications & Experience:
o A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
o At least 4 years of post-graduate experience in a similar role within construction/engineering.
o Strong knowledge and experience in pricing works.
* Skills & Attributes:
o Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
o Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
o Strong IT skills (experience with estimating software, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, or MS Project is advantageous).
* Other Requirements:
o Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
o Willingness to travel within Ireland and the UK.
