Role Overview and Responsibilities Introduction An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our company as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice based at our site in Abercynon, South Wales. About the Apprenticeship You will undertake a detailed training programme over three years where you will work in various departments across the company such as, Production Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Design Engineering and Machine Shop with exposure to a small took room and Quality. This programme will enable you to develop your Mechanical Engineering skill set and general knowledge of the company, its processes and how each department supports these. Following successful completion of the apprenticeship programme you will be offered a position within one of our departments which meets both the company's requirements but also an area where you have shown the most interest. You will be linked to your own dedicated mentor who will support you during your apprenticeship. You will be on day release each week to college and based at the factory for the other four days. Qualifications, Skills and Attributes Requirements Must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE grades A - C including Mathematics, English and Science. Must have completed NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations in a Mechanical discipline Completed their first year BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Additional Information We are working with Coleg y Cymoedd who will provide each candidate with an assigned assesor for the duration of the training and they will support you in completing the Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. We have a structured grading system which you will progress through following the sucessful completion of each academic year. Our Recruitment Process Initially we will reach out to you for an informal conversation about the role. This will allow you the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about TT, our site and our team. It will also give us the chance to learn more about you and your experience to date. At this point both parties have the opportunity to decide if they would like to continue with the process. Formal Interviews will be held on site and include a tour of the facility. Where a a small practical test will be required. Due to the specific projects TT Electronics Abercynon Supports we are unable to sponsor work visas for this role. Candidates will be required to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard Clearance and hold UK or US citizenship. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre and during employment drug and alcohol testing.
