This role is within Supply Chain Operations (SCO), which supplies and delivers logistics, materials, components, and fleet services that enable railway maintenance and renewal.
SCO ensures that materials, machinery, and components are on-site when needed, so work can proceed as planned and on schedule. Watch our video.
About the role (External)
As a Site Operative, you will undertake work as allocated, safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out work safely and in accordance with safe systems of work procedures, method statements, or other instructions. Report any Close Calls identified.
2. Undertake work and related duties for which you are trained and competent, advising the Site Manager if additional training is needed.
3. Perform work activities as directed, safely and in accordance with all relevant standards.
4. Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials under your control are fit for use, properly stored, and disposed of correctly; report any issues to the Site Manager.
5. Contribute to your own development.
6. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
7. Represent the team at business meetings, workshops, and briefings as required by the Site Manager.
Skills and Experience
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Hold and retain relevant competencies for this role, including training such as 360 excavator/material re-handler and wheeled loading shovel.
* Willingness and ability to drive vehicles as required by the business.
