Responsibilities Carry out goods-in and source inspections of sub-contracted components Raise non-conformance reports and quality alerts where appropriate Support problem solving activities to reduce non-conformance arisings Support in-house calibration activity Support the Quality Manager in developing and embedding the Quality ethos within the Company As required, act as Deputy to the Quality Manager Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met Travel to UK suppliers to perform source inspection activities Resolve quality problems in conjunction with other functions Collate data on non-conformance arisings to identify trends and common causes and work across the business to agree improvement actions Support internal audit activities Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner. When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training. Perform other duties as required. Skills Essential Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in the use of MS-Office software applications. Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions, including technical engineering drawings. Supporting and leading problem-solving activities to reduce non-conformance arisings and improve efficiency. Experience working collaboratively with Suppliers, acting as company representative for Company representative in quality discussions. Knowledge of source inspections in the UK and high-tech mechanical assembly inspection Desirable Experience in the aerospace industry. Previous experience of manufacture and assembly of electro-mechanical devices.
