Victoria Surgery is looking to welcome a qualified dispenser into our busy practice, on a full time basis for 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (no weekend working), who will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. The main responsibilities of the role: Dispensing medicines and collecting prescription charges. Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensing manager to facilitate reordering. Receiving and storing supplies, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable. Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed in accordance with practice policy. Safely disposing of returned and/or out of date medicines. Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed within a 72-hour timeframe. Providing patients with advice regarding all prescription matters. Processing prescription requests via email, phone, face-to-face and online. Processing dossett boxes. Always maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Please see full job description attached. About the Candidate If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and experience: You will have at least a Diploma Level 2 Dispensary or equivalent pharmacy services qualification. Previous dispensary and pharmacy experience, ideally in primary care. Excellent clinical and medication knowledge. The confidence to work as part of a busy GP multi-disciplinary practice team and using your own initiative in decision making. The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach. Excellent patient facing inter-personal communication skills. Sensitive and empathetic. Ability to work under pressure.
