Job Summary
We are looking for a permanent Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our innovative, friendly and well-supported team working with children and young people in community settings across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Our inclusive and nurturing team will support your CPD through a variety of activities and training. You will regularly meet with a small group of colleagues and wider team members to share best practice and learning.
You will experience a positive and forward-thinking environment ready to help develop your career. We have a thorough induction programme which includes buddying and structured supervision.
If you are a newly qualified therapist, we will provide close support and mentoring to guide you through your RCSLT competencies.
A qualification in Speech and Language Therapy is essential. We will consider applicants with experience and those looking for their first post or just finishing their qualification.
Main duties of the job
You Will Be Responsible For
1. Assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based interventions for children and young people with communication needs.
2. Communicating complex and sensitive information to a range of listeners.
3. Working collaboratively and co-operatively in a range of environments to maximise the outcomes of children and young people in partnership with others.
4. Co-ordinating, organising and prioritising your work and, where appropriate, the work of others on a day-to-day basis.
5. Maintaining up to date evidence-based skills, knowledge and clinical competence.
