Axcis Education is collaborating with a distinguished specialist day college in Cwmbran, Torfaen, to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This role involves supporting students aged 16 to 25 with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Personalised Support: Assist in the development and delivery of tailored educational programmes, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
2. Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with educators to set up and manage classroom activities, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
3. One-on-One Engagement: Provide individualised support to students, facilitating their academic and personal growth.
4. Therapeutic Collaboration: Work alongside therapists to integrate speech, occupational, and physiotherapy into daily routines, promoting student independence.
5. Community Integration: Support students in participating in community-based learning activities, enhancing their social and practical skills.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with PMLD or complex learning disabilities is advantageous.
2. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a compassionate and patient approach.
3. Flexibility: Adaptability to meet the varying needs of students and the educational environment.
4. Commitment: Dedication to promoting independence and active participation among students.
