An opportunity has arisen to join the close-knit team at Zeno Agency Ltd as their new agency assistant
This is an entry level position and applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The assistant will support colleagues across all aspects of agency business, with a specific focus on the selling of clients' translation rights. This is a great chance to learn the inner workings of the agenting business with an eye to building a long term career.
Zeno Agency Ltd is a leading London-based literary agency with a focus on Science Fiction and Fantasy. We represent a wide range of clients including Sunday Times bestsellers, award winners and notable estates. Authors we work with include Ben Aaronovitch, Brandon Sanderson, Travis Baldree, Aliette de Bodard, William Gibson, Charlaine Harris, Grady Hendrix, and Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
1. General admin support for agency colleagues
2. Preparing our international rights catalogue
3. Regularly liaising with our subagents and scouts
4. Organising schedules for book fairs
5. Creating rights packets for upcoming books
6. Updating our internal databases (Bradbury Philips)
7. Liaising with our social media department
We are looking for candidates that have a genuine appreciation for the kinds of books we represent and a particular interest in international rights. You'll need a keen eye for detail and be proficient in managing a high volume of administration work in an exciting deal-making environment.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, articulate, strategic, a passionate reader and hungry to make deals. They will be keen to understand how selling rights works and will relish the challenge of building a rights department.
Flexible working is part of the position, but the job will require at least two days a week in our office in Primrose Hill on an ad hoc basis.
