Senior Estimator - Tunnelling Services
Our client, a leading specialist in tunnelling services, renowned for delivering complex and challenging underground construction projects across the industry, is seeking a Senior Estimator with experience in the Tunnelling and Trenchless industry to join their team.
As the Senior Estimator, you will lead the estimating process for the projects. You will be responsible for preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates, managing the estimating team, and ensuring that the bids reflect the high standards they are known for.

Responsibilities
1. Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates
2. Analyse project specifications, drawings, and design documentation to fully understand scope and requirements
3. Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and senior leadership to develop estimates that align with project goals and client expectations
4. Manage and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and support in their professional development
5. Source and evaluate costs for materials, equipment, and subcontractors specific to tunnelling and underground construction
6. Prepare and present comprehensive tender documents and proposals, ensuring all risks and opportunities are fully considered
7. Maintain and update a database of historical costs and pricing information to inform future estimates
8. Participate in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements
9. Continuously monitor industry trends, cost fluctuations, and new technologies to ensure competitive and accurate estimating
Requirements
1. A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
2. Extensive experience in estimating within the construction industry, specifically the Tunnelling and Trenchless industry
3. Proven track record of successfully leading the estimating process for complex projects
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
6. Membership in a professional body such as RICS or CIOB is desirable but not essential
