The Energy Asset Modelling Specialist provides Uniper with critical insights and strategic recommendations by modelling the performance and profitability of Uniper's energy assets over time. This role enhances the quality of investment decisions and the evaluation of strategic options, by assessing the impacts and trade-offs of between options in different market environments, ensuring Uniper remains competitive and adaptive to market changes.

Your responsibilities
1. Create dispatch optimization models for Uniper's energy assets (power stations, heat grids, energy storage, renewables etc.) using Uniper’s proprietary mixed integer linear programming tools.
2. Run the models with different asset configurations and price outlooks to describe Uniper’s option space and different possible outcomes.
3. Provide insights and recommendations for investments decisions and strategy projects based on model outcomes.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance asset modelling and links to related Uniper processes.
5. Conduct ad-hoc analyses on Uniper and third-party assets within Uniper's core markets to identify how Uniper to capture additional value in the market.
Your profile
1. PhD or Master's degree in Energy Asset Modelling, Operations Research, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in energy asset optimization and dispatch modelling in academia and/or industry.
3. Strong technical knowledge of thermal and hydro power plants as well as batteries. Knowledge of renewables and electrolysers would be a plus.
4. Knowledge of European energy markets.
5. Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
6. Ability to translate complex modelling results into actionable strategies.
