Practical Plater Trainer

£19.66 per hour (Overtime available)
An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Practical Plater Trainer. The purpose of the role is to deliver hands-on Plating training, assess learners, and ensure high-quality instruction aligned with industry standards.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provide hands-on instruction in plating techniques, metal fabrication, welding preparation, and related processes.
2. Provide feedback, support, and mentoring to learners to help them progress.
3. Assess trainee performance through practical demonstrations and assessments.
4. Ensure all training adheres to industry standards, best practices, and health and safety regulations.
5. Develop and adapt training materials to suit different skill levels and learning styles.
6. Offer guidance and mentorship to trainees to enhance their skill levels and confidence.
7. Maintain training equipment and ensure it is in safe working condition.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
1. Extensive hands-on experience as a plater, fabricator within the metalworking or manufacturing industry.
2. Recognised plater/fabricator qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
3. Strong understanding of plating processes, materials, tools, and safety procedures.
4. Previous experience in training, coaching, or mentoring welders.
5. Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in manufacturing environments.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Passion for developing others and sharing industry knowledge.
Desirable:
1. Experience working in a training or educational setting.
2. Hands-on experience with various plating techniques and metalworking equipment.
3. Certification in training and assessment (e.g., Train the Trainer, Level 3 Award in Education and Training) is an advantage.
