Calderdale Council is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) or Support Workers. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children with special educational needs, focusing on those with Social, Mental, and Emotional Health (SMEH) issues and cognitive learning challenges.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver interventions in collaboration with specialist teachers to support students with SMEH and cognitive learning needs.
* Utilise cognitive learning strategies to help students connect new information with existing ideas, enhancing their memory and retention capacity.
* Travel between different schools within Calderdale to provide consistent support across various settings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience working with SEN in a similar or transferable role.
* Confidence and commitment to excellence in supporting children with special needs.
* A valid driving license for travel between schools.
* A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
