Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Area: City Centre Birmingham
Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 3:30pm FULL TIME
Monarch Education is working closely with a group of special needs schools in Birmingham that require a full-time Teaching Assistant to work within their specialist team to help support the education and development of children from Key Stage 2 up to GCSE level and beyond.
This is a full-time, long-term role, Monday to Friday, starting ASAP for the full academic year, with the view of potentially going permanent.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have (But Not Essential)
* Experience working with young people
* A good standard of education including Math and English GCSE at C (or equivalent) and NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants
* Excellent communication skills
* A desire to work with, inspire and support children
* Good behaviour management skills
* Experience supporting children or adults with additional needs such as ASC
Main Responsibilities
* Supporting the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the day-to-day running of the class
* Supporting children during lessons/school activities
* Managing difficult behaviours
* Delivering 1:1 or small group activities
* Collecting evidence of the children's work to support their assessment
