Our client, an established domestic violence charity, is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join their team.
Synopsis of duties:
1. Managing the financial operations, overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and reporting to ensure the effective and efficient use of resources.
2. Using Xero payroll package, including preparing month salaries, P45s and P46s, end of year returns, end of year payroll, and liaising with the bank on payroll matters.
3. Ensuring that all income is accurately recorded and banked.
4. Providing month reports to the trustees, quarterly accounts for the management committee, and quarter budget and variance analysis.
5. Attending Trustees meetings to present reports and/or give financial input to their decision-making.
6. Liaising with other staff to ensure that goods are ordered in accordance with agreed procedures.
7. Working with the CEO and other staff to compile the budget for the organisation as a whole and for individual projects, and helping prepare financial information for funding applications, commissioners, and other funding bodies.
8. Liaising with funders, statutory agencies, and the general public, including Jobcentre Plus.
9. Attending and contributing to staff meetings and one-to-one supervision meetings.
10. The Finance Officer also supervises the finance intern(s).
Essential Requirements:
1. Experience previously working with charities.
2. Experience of working in a financial setting.
3. Preferably full or part-qualified accounting technician.
4. Experience monitoring budgets, producing financial reports, and information to funders.
5. At least 2 years experience of using an accounts package for general bookkeeping, including producing accounts and management reports.
6. Preferable experience using a payroll package (Xero).
